We stayed our booked hotel and I was very delighted to take my mother on this tour as she always wanted to visit the temples. The services provided by the hotel was really good, due to which, we could enjoy a comfortable stay and excellent vacation. The moment you enter the city, you realize the grandeur of the Chola Dynasty citadel. After taking rest for the day, my mother asked me about our plan to visit the famous Dravidian temples. I assured her to visit all the temples and other places she wanted to visit the very next day.

Starting with Rock Fort Temple, we moved another three temples that it houses. At the foot of the hill, lies the Manikka Vinayakar temple. Situated at the top of the hill is the Uchhi Pillayar Koyil and third one is the Taayumaanavar Koyil, which was on the hill itself. Known as the most remarkable landmark in Trichy, the temple can be reached by a flight of steps. We also got to know that there is a famous festival called the ‘Float Festival’ is celebrated at this temple only.

Being a women with religious thoughts, my mother did not want to skip any chance of visiting other famous temples. As she insisted, we headed to Sri Ranganathaswami Temple. This beautiful temple is just 7 km from the city. It is said to be the abode of Lord Sri Ranganatha. Surrounded by seven fortified walls, the temples houses 21 Gopurams. The tallest one reaches to a height of 236 feet. The amazingly carved sculptures and beautiful carvings depicting several mythological themes just touched our heart.

Next day, my mother felt like resting at the hotel itself so, I went all alone to Government Museum, which adds on to the Trichy Tourism. Located near the Pudukkottai station, the museum just made my art-lover heart more delighted. I could see the interesting objects related to Zoology, Paintings, Geology and Historical records. And I thanked God that it was Tuesday when I visited the museum because on being reached there, I got to know that the museum remains closed on Mondays.

Then, I decided to visit the Viralimalai Sanctuary. The beautiful birds always attract me and I feel that they talk to me. With this cheerful thought, I moved ahead to see the rare and beautiful birds. On your Trichy Tour, it is a must visit place where you can see wild peacock strolling around. I was lucky enough to see them dancing which filled my heart with joy.

I went back to the hotel and shared the experience with my mother. She told me about her plan of shopping in Trichy. How could I forget this one common habit among women? I took along my mother and scanned the bazaars of Trichy. We could find brass ware, carpets, jewellery, artificial diamonds, wooden toys and hand loom textiles. There are many hot spots for shopping your favorite items. The popular ones include Khadi Kraft, Junction Road and Poompuhar Sales Emporium. My mother opted some textile items along with fine brass wares.

Finally, we were done with the shopping and came back to our hotel. We took rest in night after packing our bags and left back for our home. The tour pleased me a lot because I could visit bird sanctuary and museum and on the other hand, I could fulfill the long-cherished wish of my mother to visit the temples.
